Buon Natale!

What a wonderful Christmas we had in beautiful Venice!

We flew into Venice on Christmas Eve. We excitedly rolled our luggage over the bridge to our cute little hotel. We could not wait to explore the city.

On Christmas morning we attended the service at San Marco (St. Marks) Basilica. What a fun experience! Then we walked and enjoyed the sights! The weather was chilly but there was not a cloud in the sky!

We loved that there were no cars!
Rick, errr, Jon was our tour guide. It was beautiful.

We were thankful that our hotel was near a major site so that we could always just follow the signs back to it. We did not have to use a map because you can just follow the yellow signs towards the major sites. We may have gotten a little turned around but we were never worried... it is an island after all!We loved exploring the small and quiet canals.

On Monday we hopped on the train to Florence. More to come...
